PCD PROGRAM

PCD is the hardest man-made material in industrial use. It is particularly suitable for cutting and drilling very hard and abrasive materials, like aerospace grade CFRP, as well as other materials commonly used in various industries like: GFRP, G10, Polyurethane & Epoxy Model Board, Alucobond® and Trespa®.

COMPOSITES

Advanced composite materials need to be cut in a precise and controlled manner, while remaining within the Rz/Ra limits and temperature levels often set by aeronautical OEMs to avoid conditions that could, potentially, lead to delamination of the composite part.
In demanding applications that require tight tolerances and consistency throughout the machining programs, PCD can provide that extra longevity that enables manufacturers of composite parts to complete their programs without interruptions for tool changes

REPEATABILITY & TRACEABILITY

Each M.GI. Aero cutting tool is issued with an article code to provide clear identification and guarantee repeatability for future orders; a unique serial number is given to each cutting tool, allowing us to pinpoint a single tool even within large batch sizes. This also provides the ability to trace the production history and materials used during fabrication.

METRIC & IMPERIAL

M.GI. Aero produces cutting tools in both Metric and Imperial sizes, to the standards and tolerances demanded by leading European and North American companies.

SERVICE & REFURBISHMENT

Cutting tools can be refurnished back to their original dimensions and geometries.

You can count on M.GI. Aero - for new tools and refurbishment.

PCD ENDMILL CUTTERS

Advanced composite materials need to be cut in a precise and controlled manner, respecting agreed temperature levels, roughness values and avoiding conditions that could potentially lead to delamination of the composite part.

  • Positive and Negative shear angle & end-cut-to-centre.
  • Balance class G2.5 @ 18.000 RPM.
  • Endmills have a bottom dish angle and micro-corner protective radius.
  • Precision grinding during the erosion process helps achieve lower Rz/Ra values on the CFRP part.
  • Manufactured on a h6 solid carbide body.
  • Metric & Imperial sizes available.
  • Endmills can be custom made according to specific requirements.

PCD BALLNOSE CUTTERS

In demanding applications that require tight tolerances and consistency throughout the machining programs, PCD can provide that extra longevity that enables manufacturers of composite parts to complete their machining programs - without interruptions for tool changes - while remaining within the Rz/Ra limits and temperature levels set by the OEM.

  • Positive shear angle is standard (also available with 0° shear angle).
  • Balance class G2.5 @ 18.000 RPM.
  • Precision grinding during the erosion process helps achieve
  • lower Rz/Ra values on the CFRP part.
  • Manufactured on a h6 solid carbide body.
  • Metric & Imperial sizes available.
  • Ballnose cutters can be custom made according to specific requirements.
